This Report from: Charyn McDonnell
Charyn is again out camping in her 20ft Passport Travel Trailer at Paulina Lake campground in Newberry Crater National Monument. I asked her about this camping spot as for more of her amazing photos. She is a very awesome photographer and she loves the outdoors. This is the Info she shared:
It is one of two campgrounds around Paulina Lake, plus a rustic resort and marina. The adjacent lake in the volcanic crater is East Lake. It also has two campground and a rustic resort marina.
Both are high altitude lakes, so summer highs are usually in the 80’s with temps dropping into the 40’s at night.
Paulina campground had flush toilets and potable water as well as dumpsters and a fish cleaning station at its boat ramp.
Both lakes are known for their fisheries.
Camp spaces range in all sizes. We got a very large one that was a pull-through. There is a 7.5 mile trail that goes around the lake. Open through Sun Sep 16 2018. Part of Deschutes National Forest.
